fabulous magazine (the one you are reading now) giving you exposure with a
10,000 print circulation! But wait there is more! (at the risk of sounding like
a bad infomercial). At each and every meeting, all who are attending stand
up and say who they are and what they do or what they need help with.
After everybody is finished, everybody mingles and seeks out people who
they can assist either personally or give them the name of somebody they

know. A lady I went with had at least 7 people wanting to use her services,
and she went there looking to find more staff, which she also found. It’s the
most incredible group of people who truly want to see you succeed! They
are happy to share their knowledge with no expectation of anything other
than you paying it forward. Seeing this does my heart good. The attitude
of the Chamber is that if all our large, small, and home-based businesses
succeed the area succeeds. It’s a win-win situation for all, business owners
and residents alike.

We should never take for granted how fortunate we of Almaguin Highlands
are for the area, for the people and for the opportunities this area offers for
both the deeply rooted and those who are looking to put their roots down.
I’m going to quote the Municipality of Whitestone’s motto because it speaks
volumes in just a few words, and I feel as though it applies to all of the
Almaguin Highlands: A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, WORK and PLAY!
I wholeheartedly agree with that. It’s so nice to be HOME.
