Marquee Farm
A Fresh Start.
Marquee Farm springs to life in the Almaguin Highlands
W
alking through two sets of double doors into the grow-room at Marquee Farm in the middle of winter is
like walking through a portal into another world. Outside, the icy wind bites at your face and seconds later,
you feel a warm, humid breeze, like suddenly being in the tropics. The smell of lush vegetation and tangy
herbs, the sound of trickling water and the soft whir of the fans. Row upon row of green and red plants,
from the floor to the ceiling, as the bright LED lights mimic the mid-day sun of a summer day. It is technology
meeting nature in a new way to address issues of food-insecurity. It is a brand-new Controlled Environment
Agriculture project, sprung to life in the Almaguin Highlands in the challenging times of the pandemic.
“There are solutions to ensure
we have access to the freshest,
tastiest and most nutritious
